Spanning from central Kosovo to the southern border with North Macedonia, the Sharr Mountains offer some of Kosovo’s most beautiful hiking routes. The Sharr Mountains are home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, as well as more than 2,500-meter peaks to explore.
The mountain borders extend from the city of Prizren, following the two rivers—the Prizren Lumbardhi and the Lepenac.
The Sharr Mountains cover a total area of 1,600 km², with 56.25% in North Macedonia, 43.12% in Kosovo, and 0.63% in Albania.
Each hike can be accessed with just a 15 km trip from Prizren to the surrounding mountains, reaching elevations up to 1,020 meters above sea level. The landscapes and sights are breathtaking
The six to eight-hour hike starts at the Arxhena Hotel and ascends to the summit of Vraca e Madhe (2,582 meters).
This hike gains over 900 meters in elevation before reaching the summit of Guri Zi (2,536 meters). The hike takes approximately six to eight hours, including a stop for your takeaway lunch.

Koritnik Peak
Koritnik is a wooded, limestone mountain located in northeastern Albania and southwest Kosovo between the cities of Kukës and Prizren. The mountain is entirely surrounded by branches of the White Drin river.

High Scardus Trail
The High Scardus Trail is a long-distance hiking trail that spans 22 stages through the untouched mountain world of the Western Balkans, from Kosovo through Albania to North Macedonia
Climbing this Via Ferrata will offer you pleasure, adrenaline and surely the most spectacular views of the great gorge of Lumbardh river and mountains of Sharr. The trail starts from the Tibetan bridge that crosses over Lumbardh river, the trail has a length of about 500m. It takes approximately 2 hours to complete the trail, including the descent trail walk. It is considered a via ferrata trail with moderate difficulty.
Via Ferrata activities require a reasonable level of physical fitness and a head for heights. Participants should be prepared for some physical exertion and heights during the climb. Safety is a top priority, and all necessary precautions are taken.

Trail running competition in Sharr mountains
Sharri VK (3.8km, 1,075m D+) is a mountain running race of the ``Vertical Kilometer (VK)`` type, officially certified by the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF). The race starts in the village of Prevallë (Prizren), Kosovo, and finishes at the peak of the Sharr Mountains (2,622m). The race is organized by Skyrunning Kosovo, which is part of the Federation of Mountaineering and Sport Climbing of Kosovo (FBAKU).
Kayak is a new adventure product recenty added in the Prizren’s turistic offer. Citizens and tourists visiting the town of Prizren in the Drin River valley in the village of Nashec can enjoy these recreational sports.
Prizren possesses the 5 km long mountain biking trail, which starts from the part of Karapotok (nature) and ends at the part of the Mountain House.
